A high sierra meadow (about 8800 ft). I'm sure that it was much more colorful a couple months ago. Notice the pretty blue sky with a few whisps of clouds? This is looking pretty much East.

Looks like a good place for an eagle's nest. I'm looking pretty much west in this picture. The sky isn't nearly as bright blue.

Another shot of the lake, it was a really beautiful day still, if a bit cold and windy.

Stopped for a break at Winnemucca Lake. Yes, those are socks on Greg's hands. Yes it is as cold as he looks like it is.

We're just a bit east of Round Top at Winnemucca Lake so you get a different view of it.

Same stream, slightly different place. You can see the ripples in the frozen ice. We definitely weren't expecting this kind of weather in mid-September.

Winnemucca Lake again, from a distance. We're on our way to Round Top Lake now. You can see that there's more clouds in the sky now.

Looking North East. That haze you see is snow. Yes, it snowed on us at ~9000 ft in the Sierras in mid-September.

An interesting geological feature. I'm not sure what it is but I'm sure that my friend Matt Kaplan could tell me.

Given the weather, we decided not to summit Round Top and just hiked out, finishing the loop.

Me standing by the Mokelumne Wilderness sign. I'm wearing glove liner's underneath the socks on my hands.
