We've had the grease in the fridge for months. Every time we make bacon we just pour the new grease on top of the old grease. We haven't had any problems with it smoking - though I'm not sure how high of a temp we use... but you figure if the grease doesn't smoke while the bacon is cooking then you're probably fine to that temp for the pancakes.

How long is the grease good for? Does it heat well for a hot pancake skillet without smoking? I have been using butter flavored Crisco for my pancakes because of the high smoke temp but bacon grease just sounds too yummy not to try. Of course, half the time I buy peppered bacon which would make a very interesting flavored pancake so I might not save that. ;)

ps Why yes, I am terribly jealous over your new iPad. :P

I seemed to gain that ability during my time in college, but now the only time it manifests itself is when I'm reading a book in bed, which is quite a bother. Jenn knows he fastest way to put me to sleep is to try to read to me.

Isn't it interesting how one line can make or break someones opinions on a story. In my own completely personal opinion I don't like reading mention of people enjoying or approving of drugs. So I read that line and immediately thought 'I really don't like that one'. Thinking about it later made me realize it wasn't the line itself, which could lead the reader to have a desire to read on about just what the bong was made of, but the subject itself. I guess that's why there are so many different writing themes. Something for everyone.

No, I haven't fleshed any of them out. I do however keep coming up with more of them (as indicated above).

Uuu, I really like it now. I know you have been quite busy with the home building but have you gone any further on the first sentences? There were quite a few I really like.

Thanks, Val. It was indeed a typo and is now fixed. I also added a comma because I think it improves readability.
