Everything has a beginning. Sometimes it’s a point. Sometimes it’s a seed. Sometimes it’s a sentence. In an effort to improve my writing, I’m trying to write First Lines to stories.

Any entry with a subject beginning “First Line: ” is a first line post. It’s a slug unto itself. Perhaps there’s more to it lurking in the crevices of my mind, perhaps it’s just a single drop with nothing to back it up. That’s the beauty of a first line - it doesn’t matter. Take them as you want, read them, comment on them, think about where the story would go from here, ignore them. I’ve made my choice to post it - you choose what to do about it.
