An Exchange
Me (surveying a very cluttered bookshelf top where Emma keeps her finished art projects): We have a problem here.
Matt (looking over at the bookshelf): What?
Me: Do you see the bookshelf?
Matt: Yes…
Me: Doesn’t it look awfully cluttered?
Matt: Well…
Me (pointing to the bookshelf): Is this what we want to be encouraging our children to do?
Matt: No, it isn’t. But I am the one who arranged it like that because Emma was moving too slowly.
Me (laughing): Oh, well, oops.
At least I know where she gets it from… ![]()

I did actually LOL at this one. Zorak is the King of Horizontal Spaces. Drives me batty. “Bookshelves should only have vertical items upon them”, say I!
“But no, there are all these great ledges for laying things - here, and here, and ohhhh, up on top,” says he!
And yet, I still wonder where the boys get it? (not too quick sometimes, I know)

LOL!
Yup, that’s Matt too. Being rather on the short side I don’t tend to look up at the tops of the bookshelves as often as I should, so when I do I’m generally (not so pleasantly) surprised by what has accumulated there without my noticing.
