Could I please have a functional memory?
Don’t you hate it when you remember hearing about some book or curriculum program a couple years ago that your child wasn’t ready for at the time, but now that your child is ready for it, you can’t for the life of you remember what it was, where you heard about it, or anything that might help you find it again?
I’m currently trying to remember a neat (and inexpensive) map skills/geography workbook sort of thing that I heard about probably two years ago. I did some searching for it yesterday, both in my notes and online but to no avail. Now I use a nifty little application called Yojimbo to manage and tag all my links, email snippets, PDFs and other random bits of data, but I’ve only been using this program for about a year. *sigh*
I’ve looked at a few other things out there but so far I haven’t found anything that really stands out as worth it. Some seem too easy, some too expensive, and others seem too basic to be worth the time. I guess I’ll either have to keep doing what I’m currently doing, put more thought into what I’m currently doing and make it better, or keep looking for a better third party solution. Any suggestions?

Oh yes! Book lists. They’re my downfall. I gather all these great book lists, lose them, and then when I find them again, it’s like Christmas. OH, wow, why have I never heard of these?!?! Um… b/c I have heard of these… *sigh*
I told our insurance lady today that, for all intents and purposes, I’m pretty much an imbecile these days. While I blame the preggo brain, I can’t help but cringe uncomfortably, wondering what excuse I shall have after the baby’s born.

Ooh, I love booklists! My daughter seems to have inherited this love as well because yesterday I printed out a couple and she had a great time looking over the list and exclaiming over the ones she knew and loved and ones that she thought looked interesting.
I really want to put together a little folder with these booklists in them so that I can bring them with me to the library. Yesterday before we went to the library I actually checked the internet catalog before we headed out so that I could see what they had and what was available, then put together a list of books to look for. It worked really well, but I have a hard time seeing myself being that organized each week before we make our library run!
On the curriculum front though I think I remember where I heard about that particular piece so now all I have to do is dig out her email address and see if she remembers.
