My two year old…
is learning Latin. And no, I’m not one of those parents, it is just happening in the course of our Latin vocabulary review. For example, an exchange from today:
Me: What is the Latin word for water?
Emma: Umm…
Gregory: aqua, aqua, aqua
and a little later:
Me: What’s the Latin word for I conquer?
Emma: Um…
Gregory: supero! supero!
Yes, Emma did not have a stellar Latin vocab session today as you can probably tell, but Gregory did pretty well, considering it is all absorbed from what is around him. He’s also learning some of her memorywork too. Younger siblings have a definite advantage sometimes, at least in homeschooling families!

ROFLOL!
We have a friend at church who swears she does not remember “teaching” her third child a *thing*. She says her dd just absorbed it from her brothers and took the ball from there.
Smidge currently has absolutely lovely manuscript writing. Why? Because when we’re done with copywork or dictation, he comes along with the dry erase marker and copies everything on the white board, exactly as it’s written. Zorak thought John had done it, but I knew it couldn’t be John (b/c John’s writing isn’t that neat and uniform!) lol.
GO, Gregory! Go! WOOHOO!

Oh wow, this brings back memories…
… of me feeling really mad while Jonathan or Christopher answered MY vocabulary quizzes while I tried to think of the answers…

Sarah - that is so funny! I bet that was really aggravating at the time though. I can so see that happening in this family too, with similiar results.
Dy - that’s great about Smidge, way to go, little (well, not quite so little anymore!) guy! How funny that his is even better than his brother’s though, and that he’s latched onto this as a fun thing to do.
