Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, everyone! Alleluia, Alleluia!
And on a more mundane note, I finished those bags I mentioned in my last post at 12:03 a.m. this morning. I would have been done sooner but I was having a hard time with the tension on my sewing machine. I can’t tell you how many times I broke the thread while doing some of the final seams! I am proud to report that the most frustration that I felt or even thought was a heavy sigh. A couple of years ago… well, suffice to say it wouldn’t have been pretty. It is nice to stop and reflect a moment now and then on just how far I’ve come, rather than always thinking about how much farther I have to go.
Well, enough with the self-reflection. Here’s the bags. I think they turned out quite well!

(I should mention that the directions for making these bags came from this Pretty Tote Tutorial, found via a link from Sew, Mama, Sew)

Oh my goodness, how cute! I want one, too! Or better yet, I want a sewing machine so I can make my own…

Those are adorable!
What kind of sewing machine do you have? I’m about ready to take mine back and try again with a new kind of machine - I got it at Christmas, it broke less than four weeks later and they replaced it, and now it is breaking again. So I’m on the hunt for a good machine. Any recommendations?

Thanks, everyone! I’m really pleased with how they turned out - although every time I look at Gregory’s I consider redoing the stitching around the outside of the bag. I really should have switched colors, but I didn’t think I had any blue. Of course the blue turned up just after I finished the bags!
Emily, I don’t know anything about sewing machines - sorry! That one you have doesn’t sound like a very good one though. I have a White Jean Machine, which I’m pleased enough with, although I wish the instructions were better. I really don’t understand how to do several things with it because the directions are so unclear.
