Crown of what??
Emma had her last day of swimming lessons today (and she can do something that looks something like the freestyle stroke now - yay Emma!) and I brought a picnic lunch for after her lesson. As I sat on the grass watching the kids, Emma and Gregory decided I needed a flower crown so I could be the flower queen. Emma made a flower chain for me, and Gregory found flowers for me to hold. As Gregory handed me the flowers to hold he told me “Here’s a statue for this hand, and here’s one for this hand” and as Emma was putting the crown on my head he said “You will look blootiful, mommy! You will look like Jesus!”

Reminds me of the time when I was seven, and visiting family in India. I was hanging out with my favorite cousin, and wanting to compliment her, told her the nicest thing I could think of: that she looked like Durga (the most revered goddess in the Bengali Hindu pantheon). Being around seven herself, she was pleased as punch.

LOL - I bet she was pleased!

Aw, that’s cute. Congrats to Emma on her swimming! I’ve taken up swimming in the pool at the gym lately, and when I first started a lap after years of not swimming, I found myself thinking, “Wow, I guess it’s been a long time since swimming lessons.”
But I’m getting the hang of it again, and hopefully I don’t frighten the lifeguard too much.
